Don’t worry, it’s not pay-per-view

The large lads take center stage at the O2 on April 20th.

Dave Allen (16-4-2, 13 KO) vs. Lucas Browne (27-1, 24 KO) was first announced back in January, while Chisora (29-9, 21 KO) had been in talks to fight former champion Joseph Parker. Instead, he gets “GashineGun” Gashi (17-2, 17 KO), who’s coming off a December TKO loss to Carlos Takam.

These should be fun little wars to watch so long as you can suppress the “true boxing fan” part of your brain with sheer will and/or alcohol.

Josh Kelly (8-0, 6 KO), one of England’s top young prospects, faces another young welterweight prospect in Runowski (17-0, 3 KO). The 24-year-old Pole has faced decent competition so far, meaning that record isn’t just fluff, but Kelly should still be the heavy favorite.

Conor Benn (13-0, 9 KO) has not fought since a July victory over Cedrick Peynaud, who’d given Benn all kinds of Hell eight months prior. The 22-year-old doesn’t look like he’ll reach anywhere near the heights of his legendary father, but he is still developing.

Joe Cordina (8-0, 6 KO) will defend his Commonwealth lightweight title against former British super featherweight champ Andy Townend (22-1, 14 KO), who looks like he’s been hitting the spice a little too hard. This is probably the most competitive matchup on the card between two strong local talents.
