The Top Rank promoter(‘s Twitter account) is doling out the compliments.

Bob Arum loves to exaggerate, like any fight promoter does, and the latest bit to come from his official and verified Twitter account — look, I’m sorry, I just can’t picture 87-year-old Bob Arum actually doing the tweeting himself — has thrown out a whopper of a statement about WBO welterweight titleholder Terence Crawford.

“Spectacular victory” is one way of putting it for a fight that ended with Crawford punching Amir Khan in the thigh and Khan quitting (he says he didn’t), leaving Madison Square Garden booing vociferously, with Arum trying to shout about Al Haymon and turn the attention away from the unsatisfying end of the $70 pay-per-view event.

promised — PROMISED — that Crawford-Khan was going to be an all-time classic. So … y’know.

He also praised two of the undercard winners, Teofimo Lopez and Shakur Stevenson:

Nothing said about Felix Verdejo. Nobody ever mentions poor Felix Verdejo anymore.
