Sierra dropped a wide decision to Vladimir Shishkin in January

Super middleweight wrecking machine Edgar Berlanga has his assignment for December 12th: once-beaten ShoBox veteran Ulises Sierra, who will attempt to be the first man to last more than 2:45 against “The Chosen One.”

Bob Arum calls Sierra (15-1-2, 9 KO) “the toughest test of Edgar’s career,” but in all honesty, he’s probably a step back from Lanell Bellows. The 31-year-old, who admittedly has never been stopped or, as far as I can tell, knocked down, lost to Vladimir Shishkin in a near-shutout this past January and hasn’t beaten anyone of note.

Then again, the point isn’t to find someone who can beat Berlanga (15-0, 15 KO) at this point. The point is to find someone who can push him past the three-minute mark. Is Sierra that guy? If not, at least we get to see some violence.

The main event pits Shakur Stevenson against tricky veteran Toka Kahn Clary, while Felix Verdejo steps up in competition against Masayoshi Nakatani in the co-feature.
