The WBSS cruiserweight tournament final is looking unlikely to proceed as scheduled.

Again, we promise we’re not trying to bring you only bad news these days, but this is the state of what’s happening out there.

With Lithuania and Latvia banning large public gatherings, we’re now looking at the likelihood that the March 21 fight in Riga, Latvia, between top cruiserweights Mairis Briedis and Yuniel Dorticos, will either be canceled or held without spectators.

In Latvia, the ban is on public gatherings with over 200 people, and Briedis-Dorticos is certainly a bigger event than that. Comosa AG, the backers of the World Boxing Super Series, have released a statement:

This follows news of Top Rank’s Mar. 14 and Mar. 17 shows in New York being held without fans, Golden Boy losing two DAZN cards with the California Commission shutting down combat sports after an order from the CDPH, multiple shows in Montreal being canceled, and Saturday’s Kirkland-Hernandez card on FS1 in Maryland being shut down.
