Chisora has been in talks to face Joseph Parker, but those talks aren’t looking so good at the moment.
As Dereck Chisora (29-9, 21 KOs) looks to bounce back from his knockout loss to Dillian Whyte last December, he’s scheduled for an upcoming bout against Senad Gashi (17-2, 17 KOs) on April 20th.
But with talks about Chisora potentially facing Joseph Parker next, which seems to have hit some speed bumps recently, Matchroom promoter Eddie Hearn says he’d wouldn’t mind seeing Chisora face the winner of David Allen vs. Lucas Browne.
“To be honest with you, I also like the fight between Derek Chisora and the Allen-Browne winner. I think that’s a good fight. If Dave Allen can win that, Allen against Chisora is a great fight.
“Chisora is coming back from a knockout defeat. We saw Senad Gashi have a good go against Takam on a weeks’ notice. He’s had a good eight-nine weeks’ notice for this fight. He’s pumped up for this fight.”
Allen, 27, has won three straight fights by stoppage since he got knocked out by Tony Yoka in June 2018. Browne, 39, represents a stiffer test than any of the last three fighters Allen has faced, but he’s just a few fights removed from being knocked out himself early last year by Dillian Whyte. Since then Brown took a few tune-up bouts, knocking out Julius Long and Junior Pati before takings a points win over Kamil Sokolowski last month.
