Bud Crawford says he’s not worried about impressing Errol Spence Jr, as he already feels he’s the best at 147.

WBO welterweight titleholder Terence Crawford was a guest on SiriusXM radio following this past weekend’s fight on ESPN pay-per-view at Madison Square Garden.

Asked if he fought on Saturday — a weird TKO win over Amir Khan — to make a statement to Errol Spence Jr with his performance, Crawford said no.

“I don’t care what Errol Spence thinks or what he has going on,” Crawford said. “I’m focused on what I need to do. I’m not worried about, ‘Oh, I need to impress Errol Spence.’ If anything, he needs to impress me, because I feel like I’m the No. 1 welterweight in the division, not him.

“Errol Spence has been in the welterweight division for how long? And I’m just now getting here, my third fight, and I feel like I done took over the division. If anything, he needs to be impressing me, I don’t feel like I need to impress him.”

Crawford’s promoter Bob Arum says he wants to do the fight, and has attempted to rally demand for it, though he has also repeatedly said that Al Haymon, Spence’s adviser and the man behind Premier Boxing Champions, will not allow Spence to do the fight.
