Yamaguchi Falcao and Christopher Pearson headline in Las Vegas to whet your appetite for Canelo-Jacobs.

Tonight at 7 pm ET streaming live on Facebook, Golden Boy has a card from The Joint at the Hard Rock in Las Vegas, headlined by a middleweight clash between former amateur rivals Yamaguchi Falcao and Christopher Pearson.

Falcao and Pearson fought in the World Series of Boxing as amateurs, with Pearson winning a decision that Falcao thought was a robbery. Representing Brazil, Falcao won bronze at light heavyweight at the 2012 Olympics in London, but he’s 31 now, and been a pro for five years. It’s really time for him to get going, if he’s going to try to be a serious contender.

Ohio’s Pearson is a former Mayweather Promotions fighter who has lost two of his last five, but won two straight and is looking to get his once-promising career back on track.

The co-feature will be another middleweight fight, with Steven Butler of Montreal facing Vitalii Kopylenko, originally from Ukraine and now fighting out of Oxnard, California. Kopylenko, 35, lost to Willie Monroe Jr in the Boxcino tournament back in 2014, and has been fighting very light opposition since. Butler, 23, is the prospect here, though he has a loss, too, a TKO-7 to Brandon Cook in 2017.

In a super middleweight fight, Erik Bazinyan, an Armenian fighter from Quebec, will take on “young vet” Alan Campa, who has lost to the likes of Jesse Hart, Sergiy Derevyanchenko, and D’Mitrius Ballard.
