George Groves has decided to join the fun with Carl Froch.
Former super middleweight titleholder Carl Froch is in Las Vegas this week, and on Thursday he made some headlines by joking around about possibly returning to boxing for a third fight with George Groves.
Froch, who turns 42 in July, hasn’t fought since May 2014, when he stopped Groves in the main event in front of 80,000 screaming fans at Wembley Stadium in a huge rematch. Froch had also stopped Groves back in Nov. 2013, but that was just a regular fight in Manchester at a normal arena; in fact at the time it was called Phones 4u Arena, which was not great.
Froch officially retired in July 2015. Groves, who announced his own retirement from the ring in January of this year, has shot back with his own bit of banter:
Mate. I’ve retired you once, don’t make me do it again ♂️… https://t.co/Cn5ra38tM4

Froch left the sport with a record of 33-2 (24 KO), having held the WBC, IBF, and WBA super middleweight titles. Groves’ career record was 28-4 (20 KO), and he held the WBA super middleweight title from May 2017 until his final fight in Sept. 2018.
