The Matchroom promoter says Joshua’s list of opponents speaks for itself.

According to Matchroom promoter Eddie Hearn, there’s no comparison when looking through the respective list of opponents that Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury have faced — with Hearn saying Joshua has taken on the much better opposition.

“It makes me laugh when people look at AJ’s resume,” Hearn told Sky Sports. “Maybe I’m seeing something other people don’t? I mean Dillian Whyte, Dominic Breazeale, Wladimir Klitschko, Joseph Parker, Alexander Povetkin, Carlos Takam previously that I missed out, Andy Ruiz, Kubrat Pulev.”

Hearn then went on to say you don’t see a string of names such as Tom Schwarz, Otto Wallin, and Sefer Serferi — all of whom Fury has taken on in recent years.

“I mean it’s laughable when you compare the two resumes, but it’s in black and white for everyone to see.”

The promoter would obviously love to put Joshua and Fury in the ring together to settle it once and for all, but Hearn acknowledges that Fury’s pending legal mediation with Deontay Wilder over a third fight could push back his plans to stage an undisputed heavyweight title unification. With that being the case, it’s very possible that we first see Joshua make his mandatory WBO title defense against Oleksandr Usyk.

Fury, meanwhile, was supposed to be lined up for a December fight against Agit Kabayel but is now not expected to return until 2021 as he sorts out his Wilder dilemma.
