Jennings has not fought since falling to Oscar Rivas in January

Joe Joyce might finally have an opponent for his appearance on the July 13th Daniel Dubois-Nathan Gorman card in London, as Bryant Jennings, whom Joyce manager Sam Jones recently listed as a possible foe, posted the following on Instagram today:

Yo Realshxt only person that can beat me is myself. I had to learn a lot of stuff going through this boxing shxt. I only beat myself. Well not this time. It’s a go! Let’s get it!

Jennings (24-3, 14 KO) had won five straight since consecutive losses to Wladimir Klitschko and Luis Ortiz, finishing four of them inside the distance, when he stepped into the ring against unbeaten Oscar Rivas in January. Rivas wound up clipping Jennings in the final frame, ending a competitive fight that was split on the scorecards.

If he does wind up fighting Joyce (9-0, 9 KO), it’s a perfectly solid fight. Jennings would be “The Juggernaut’s” toughest test to date without question, and though Jennings has had issues with strong punchers in the past, “By By” ostensibly has the experience and craft to at least push Joyce past the sixth round for the first time.

Plus, he gave a good account of himself against all three opponents who beat him, so while he’s likely never touching a title, he’s no slouch.

Liam Williams, Sunny Edwards, and Archie Sharp are set to appear as well.
