Joyce believes Warren can lead him into world title contention.
British heavyweight prospect Joe Joyce (8-0, 8 KOs) has just inked a deal with Frank Warren’s Queensberry Promotions to become his co-promoter alongside Ringstar Sports. WBN reports that Joyce’s first fight with Warren is expected to come on May 18th on the undercard of Billy Joe Saunder’s fight against Shefat Isufi.
“I am delighted to be joining up with Frank and the Queensberry team,” added Joyce. “I’m now in the right place to accelerate my progress. I can really make my mark on the UK scene. While continuing to press forward towards world titles.
“Having seen the great job Frank has done with Tyson Fury, I know I’m in the right place. I’m not far away from being in with the top guys in the division. I know Frank is the man to help guide me to becoming a world champion.”
Joyce may already be 33-years-old with only 8 professional fights under his belt, but he’s shown promise as promoters trying to get him on the fast track to world level competition. Joyce at least took a marginal step in that direction in February, knocking out Bermane Stiverne, who himself was a former world titleholder.
Now Joyce declares he’s’ prepared to plow through all, but specifically mentioning the likes of Manuel Charr, Agit Kabayal and Daniel Dubois.
