The two were ordered to fight for the vacant WBC lightweight belt

According to Eddie Hearn, Vasiliy Lomachenko and Luke Campbell have yet to come to terms for their mandated WBC vacant title fight. The two have until Friday to work things out, otherwise they face a purse bid that Hearn believes will result in the fight taking place Stateside.

The WBC laid out an ambitious plan for the title formerly held by Mikey Garcia, including a tournament featuring four of its top five contenders. One of the tournament matches, Devin Haney vs. Zaur Abdullaev, looks like it will take place in the near future after Haney’s monster knockout of Antonio Moran last month. The other, Javier Fortuna vs. Teofimo Lopez, seems unlikely, as Lopez will be the IBF #1 contender should he defeat Masayoshi Nakatani a month from today and will most likely focus on getting that belt to set up a unification match.

Lomachenko (13-1, 10 KO) was last seen flattening mandatory challenger Anthony Crolla in April, while Campbell (20-2, 16 KO) stopped Adrian Yung in a stay-busy fight a month prior.
