We’ll know for sure about Miller’s failed VADA test next week.

The B sample for the VADA drug test that Jarrell Miller failed will be opened on April 24, co-promoter Greg Cohen tells ESPN.

Miller was set to face WBA/IBF/WBO heavyweight titleholder Anthony Joshua on June 1 at Madison Square Garden in a DAZN main event, which is also Joshua’s U.S. debut. But the A sample for his March 20 urine test was positive for GW1516, a banned substance, and the New York State Athletic Commission has already denied Miller a license for the fight.

denies knowingly taking the substance.

Matchroom Boxing promoter Eddie Hearn has been on the hunt for a substitute opponent since the news broke on Tuesday. He’s supposedly got a short list, which includes Luis Ortiz at the top, though Hearn was also quick to add that he doesn’t think Ortiz’s team will be ready to take the fight. Several other fighters have been speculated on; Adam Kownacki says he’s out, but Andy Ruiz Jr says he’d be in, for starters.

It’s very, very, very unlikely that the B sample will vindicate Miller or save his fight with Joshua, but this is the procedure. Anthony Joshua will be fighting June 1 at MSG, but almost certainly not against “Big Baby,” which is all but officially, 100 percent off the table at this point, with Hearn saying we’ll have replacement news next week, too.
