Both men are in the WBC top five at 140 pounds

While the rest of the super lightweight division eats one another in the gu jar that is the World Boxing Super Series, WBC champion Jose Ramirez will see his next assignment decided on April 27th when Viktor Postol faces Mohamed Mimoune in a final eliminator.

The bout was originally ordered last October.

Postol (30-2, 12 KO) looked to be on the way out after a one-sided loss to Terence Crawford and subsequent near-disaster against get-well opponent Jamshidbek Najmiddinov, but impressed many by giving Josh Taylor everything he could handle last June. He wound up becoming an alternate for the WBSS, defeating Siar Ozgul in Glasgow on the Burnett-Donaire/Taylor-Martin card.

Mimoune (21-2, 2 KO) had his breakout win in 2017, a split decision over the surging Sam Eggington in hostile territory. He made the drop from 147 to 140 soon afterwards, winning and defending the IBO title.

Though Taylor and Regis Prograis are the ideal opponents for Ramirez, who just went tooth-and-nail with Jose Zepeda, both Postol and Mimoune would be worthy foes and would make for interesting style clashes against the hard-charging champion.
