The fight was ended after only one round of action.

Tonight’s Showtime opener featuring heavyweights Otto Wallin and Nick Kisner ended early and in uneventful fashion due to an accidental head clash in the first round.

Wallin (20-0, 13 KOs) started the fight using his massive height advantage to press Kisner (21-4-1, 6 KOs) and land long shots from the outside. Wallin even landed some good shots to the body and on the inside too early in the fight. But during one exchange Wallin and Kisner bumped heads, leaving a cut over Kisner’s right eye and one on Wallin’s scalp.

That cut would prove to be a problem for Kisner, though, who immediately complained to the referee the his vision was compromised because of the blood flowing into his eye. Kisner would get a look from a ringside doctor and said he wanted to continue with the fight, and was allowed to, and finished out the round.

But in between rounds Kisner still complained that he couldn’t see well, essentially forcing the referee to call of the fight. Because the stoppage was the result of an accidental head clash with only one round in, the fight was ruled a no decision — meaning it’s like it never happened at all.
