Fortnite: $80K Ninja Battles Week Six Recap and Results

Who earned the $25K USD grand prize in the final week of Ninja Battles?

It was a quick turnaround for Tyler “Ninja” Blevins and the tournament runners behind Ninja Battles (https://estnn.com/ninja-announces-ninja-battles-80k-weekly-tournament-series/). Since its debut back in May, Epic Games has handed out $400K USD across five weeks of this intense invite-only competition. The penultimate tournament took place on Saturday; NRG Zayt, TSM Saf and Liquid Stretch dominated and claimed the $25K USD prize at the top. Unfortunately, week six marks the final week of Ninja Battles for the foreseeable future.

Several top trios returned to take one final shot at the $25K USD grand prize for the last week. As of week five, not one single player or trio managed to earn more than one tournament victory across the five-week series. Zayt, Edgey, Anas, Reverse2k, Nick Eh 30, Bizzle, Clix and several others attended the finale of Ninja Battles. Even Ninja himself returned, this time with professional players NRG Ronaldo and paper.

Let’s send Ninja Battles off in a blaze of glory and see who finished atop the leaderboard in week six.

At the end of five matches, the leaderboard revealed a dominant victory for top trio Acorn, Slackes and Jahq. These three NA East players managed double-digit points in every game, including a 20-point match to begin the tournament and a clutch 15-point match to close it out. Acorn managed the most exceptional play of the tournament, finishing in third-place without his teammates’ help in game four. The three Ninja Battles week six victors collected a well-deserved $25K USD for their impressive showing. Keep an eye out for this outstanding trio with the FNCS approaching this weekend.

Three-Way Tie for Second Place

For week six, the final leaderboard revealed what appeared to be a second-place finish for Bugha, Jamper and Avery. However, tie-breakers did not factor into the final leaderboard. After adjusting for tie-breakers – Bizzle, Clix and illest claimed second place with 51 points and earned $15K USD. Week two winner TSM Commandment and current trio teammates Cented and Edgey also finished with 51 points but lost the tie-breaker to Clix’s team; they won $10K USD. Epic Should Renew Ninja Battles

Tournament host Ninja offered some parting words as the final week came to a close.

“The Entire #NinjaBattles Process has been such a wonderful ride and an amazing learning experience. Huge shoutout to @StableRonaldo and @paper_fn for playing 2day. All and all it has been an incredible experience, thank you to all who participated from the staff, to the players.”

Ninja Battles might be one of the best tournaments to come out of competitive Fortnite in a long time. The invite-only aspect allowed players to construct teams at their own discretion. Viewers were able to see a blend of content creators, professional players and even the titular Ninja involved in the action. The $80,000 prize pool, balanced scoring system and five-game format offered plenty of incentive for the top players to participate. Hopefully, Epic Games will work with Ninja for another season Ninja Battles.
