Cardiff have signed Jordi Osei-Tutu on a season-long loan – and the Arsenal full-back has already made his intentions clear.
The 21-year-old joined the Gunners’ academy in 2015 and took his first steps in professional football last season with German club VfL Bochum.
Osei-Tutu scored five goals in 21 appearances in Germany’s second division last term and is happy to have sealed his short-term move to Wales.
He told the club’s website: “I came here because it is a big club giving me a big platform.
“I thank the manager for having the belief to bring me to such a wonderful club and all I want to do is repay him.
“I’ll do that by showing what I can do, helping the team win games and hopefully pushing for promotion.
“I’ve good knowledge of playing around the pitch, but right-back is my spot. I like to get up and down the pitch, attack and defend. I can’t wait to get started.”
Osei-Tutu becomes boss Neil Harris’ second signing of the summer. That follows the arrival of Wales international Kieffer Moore earlier this month from Wigan.
Boro keen on Cardiff star
Middlesbrough boss Neil Warnock wants to raid his old club for veteran defender Sol Bamba, TEAMtalk understands.
Warnock agreed to remain at Boro after saving them from the drop, as we exclusively revealed. However, their plans to bring in a number of new faces has not gone to plan.
Boro have lost out on a host of deals with the likes of Lyndon Dykes, Joe Williams and Charlie Goode all going elsewhere. That’s despite our sources indicating Boro pressed hard to land them.
Warnock, however, remains keen to bring in a number of new names before the start of the season. He is now focusing on some of his former lieutenants having lost skipper George Friend to Birmingham.
We understand Boro are set to approach Cardiff about a deal for Bamba. They hope they will allow the 35-year-old to move to The Riverside for a nominal fee.
