Barcelona on verge of signing £18m Semedo replacement; Aarons update

Barcelona are close to completing the signing of Ajax right-back Sergino Dest as they continue to rebuild their squad.

The LaLiga side have made an £18million bid for the defender, which is likely to end their pursuit of Norwich youngster Max Aarons.

Dest had looked destined for a move to Bayern Munich, but Barca have stepped in with a fresh approach according to Mundo Deportivo, via the Daily Mail, after their attempts to sign Aarons on loan were rejected by the Canaries last week.

The Championship outfit are holding out for a £20m bid for their star right-back. The report adds that they’re not prepared to entertain Barca’s offer of a loan without an obligation to buy.

USA international, Dest, has attracted the interest of a number of top clubs after his performances last season.

The 19-year-old made five assists in 20 appearances for Ajax and looks to have a bright future.

Barcelona have moved for Dest after Wolves completed the signing of right-back Nelson Semedo for £37million.
