Chelsea are ready to reward Jorginho with a new deal after the midfielder stayed loyal to the Blues during the recently-closed transfer window.
The Italy midfielder joined the Blues from Napoli in summer 2018 and has proved a big hit for Chelsea.
However, he was strongly linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge this summer with the Blues looking to offset some of their massive £230m outlay.
Juventus had been mentioned as a possible destination before his old mentor Maurizio Sarri was replaced.
According to the player’s agent, Joao Santos last month, the Blues chose to snub a swap deal for Jorginho that would’ve seen ex-Juventus and current Barcelona ace Miralem Pjanic call Stamford Bridge his new home.
Santos said: “Yes. Juventus had proposed an exchange with Pjanic to Chelsea which the English club did not take into consideration. But Paratici [Juventus’ Chief Football Officer] never called me.
“Would he have gone to Juve with [Maurizio] Sarri? I think so.”
But late in the window, Arsenal were strongly linked, as it became apparent their efforts to prise Houssem Aouar from Lyon were destined to fail.
As such, AreaNapoli claims the Gunners tried ‘until the last moments of the window’ to persuade Jorginho to follow Willian to Emirates Stadium.
However, Jorginho was said to be unfazed by their interest and had no intention of quitting Stamford Bridge. It’s claimed the midfielder is sure of his role in side under Frank Lampard and did not entertain thoughts of leaving.
As a result, the Italian website claim Chelsea are due to reward Jorginho’s loyalty with a new deal. They claim talks over an extension could be opened as soon as this week.
Jorginho, 28, is currently contracted to Chelsea until 2023. However, it’s reported that arrangement could be extended by a year and with a pay-rise to boot.

Pulisic makes Chelsea trophy prediction
Christian Pulisic, meanwhile, is confident that the influx of talent to Stamford Bridge can lead to Chelsea hoisting more silverware this season.
The Blues actually won 11 major trophies in the last decade. That tally was only matched over the same period by Manchester City.
But last season as they felt the effects of a transfer ban, Frank Lampard’s side emerged empty-handed.
They lost their Super Cup showdown with Liverpool. And, more frustratingly, were defeated in the final of the FA Cup by Arsenal.
However, in an interview with US network CBS, Pulisic has explained his confidence in Chelsea’s prospects.
