“Don’t rate him at all”, “Never got the hype” – Many West Ham fans slam star who “goes missing”

Having signed from Villareal last summer for a fee in the region of £24m, Pablo Fornals had a fairly disappointing debut campaign in English football with West Ham last season.

He played 39 times across all competitions, scoring just three goals and providing five assists, although it certainly didn’t help that he was shifted all across midfield – the Spain international played in five different positions over the course of the season.

Hilariously obscure Premier League players – Can you name them all?

In the Hammers’ defeat to Bournemouth in pre-season on Saturday afternoon, Fornals was used off the left-hand side, and after seeing his performance, West Ham fans took to Twitter to share their reactions about the 24-year-old.

A couple of Hammers fans slammed Fornals for going missing during games, with one supporter saying he lets the side down when they really need him.

There’s no doubting Fornals’ natural talent, having been capped twice by a strong international side like Spain, and helping his country’s U21s side win the European Championships last summer.

The key to whether the midfielder can become a success at the London Stadium surely rests on if Moyes will finally realise that he is far better off playing in a more a central position, than having to play out wide as he did against Bournemouth.

Hammers fans should point the finger of blame at the manager than at the player.
