Dybala’s future revealed unless world’s most expensive footballer offered

The long-running transfer saga of Paolo Dybala looks set to finally be resolved, after a report from Italy claimed that Juventus officials are confident in their ability to keep the Argentine forward in Turin for at least one more year.

Dybala endured a down season with the Bianconeri last year, contributing just 10 goals in all competitions – down from 26 the year prior.

The arrival of Cristiano Ronaldo from Real Madrid appeared to unbalance Dybala’s role within the team, and his lessened impact sparked speculation that the 25-year-old would leave Serie A for pastures new ahead of the 2019-20 season.

Manchester United and Tottenham both registered interest in the talented forward, but neither club were able to seal the signature of Dybala, with Spurs instead opting to recruit fellow Argentinian Giovani Lo Celso instead.

Now a report by Italian outlet Tuttosport (via calciomercato.com) claims that the club’s hierachy is ‘increasingly confident’ of keeping Dybala in Turin for the season ahead, with only a huge offer of around ‘€70 million to €80 million’ enough to cause a re-think from the Juve chiefs.

The report also goes on to spectacularly claim that Paris Saint Germain were considering making a late move for the Argentine, but that offer would only be considered if the world’s most expensive footballer Neymar were to be included as part of the deal.

Neymar’s future at PSG continues to look uncertain with Spanish giants Real Madrid and Barcelona both circling, but now it appears a move to Turin must not be ruled out, with a box-office Ronaldo-Neymar axis now a possibility.
