Leeds United beat Middlesbrough 4-0 on Saturday, but it was a landmark moment for one of their players.

Yes, Helder Costa finally scored his first league goal for the Yorkshire outfit against Jonathan Woodgate’s side.

The Portuguese winger netted United’s third goal against the Teesside outfit, and understandably he was buzzing to get off the mark for his new club.

The image of Costa celebrating his first strike for the Whites is a brilliant snap, and it’s certainly one that Leeds fans have been waiting to see since the start of the season. In fact, by the time he’d scored, it had been 150 days since he’d first signed for the club – it’s been quite the wait.

Can you imagine the types of emotions Costa must be feeling here?

As you can see from his face it’s pure joy, but there also must have been a feeling of great relief after breaking his duck.

Scoring the third goal in a game that is seemingly already sewn up isn’t usually a cause for huge celebrations, but this one is that much more special for the Wolves loanee after failing to score in any of his first 18 league appearances for his new side.

Hopefully, this goal can give him the confidence needed to go on and get a few more in the coming weeks.

It’s not as if Costa doesn’t have the talent necessary to find the net on a consistent basis, he hit double figures during his first season with Wolves, but this season his scoring touch has completely deserted him until now that is.
