According to The World Game, Australian Aaron Mooy is on the wanted list of Wolves, who could be a possible destination for the midfielder this summer.
The 28-year-old was relegated with Huddersfield this term but his performances have still been impressive. As such, the report claims West Ham, Watford, Newcastle, Southampton and Leicester are also interested in the Australia international.
Mooy was easily one of the Terriers’ best players after they were promoted, adding three goals this campaign to the four he notched last term. However, the fact he’s now been demoted to the Championship could mean it’s easier to attain his services.
This season Huddersfield did the double over Wolves, achieving a 1-0 win at the John Smith’s before beating them 2-0 at Molineux.
Wolves fans have been great value this season and now they’ve added another couple of belters to their arsenal of songs. Check them out in the video below…
In Wolves’ home fixture, Mooy scored twice including a delightful free-kick which sealed the victory for the Yorkshire side.
The disciplined midfielder was a thorn in Nuno Santo’s team, running the game as he put in a man of the match performance.
A photo from the game shows his free-kick in all its glory, as he sends the ball through the wall. Ruben Neves is Wolves’ current free-kick taker and he’s scored some excellent set-piece goals since arriving in England.
However, if Mooy arrives he can be someone to rival Neves in that regard.
It’s clear that one of his major strengths is with a dead ball and opposition teams would have every right to fear any set piece opportunities they give to Wolves.
If they weren’t already a danger from free-kicks close to the penalty area, the addition of Mooy would make Nuno’s outfit an even greater goal threat.
