Klopp picks out two favourite games; says Liverpool are ‘greedy’

Jurgen Klopp has revealed his favourite two games of the season after Liverpool ended their 30-year wait for a top-flight title.

The Reds boss watched Jordan Henderson lift the Premier League trophy at Anfield after the 5-3 win over Chelsea on Wednesday night.

Liverpool’s last title triumph was back in 1990, but they swept all before them this season and could finish the season on 99 points if they can topple Newcastle on Tyneside on Sunday.

Ahead of the final-day clash, the German coach was asked about his favourite moments of the season.

“Too many moments to mention one [this season]. I have 2 fave games. Leicester away, Sheff Utd home. Leicester, coming back from Qatar, I didn’t expect it. Over the moon. Outstanding,” he said

“The Sheff Utd game at home, they made life uncomfortable for us and that night we were near to perfection. I liked that game a lot.”

Asked about the desire to continue their recent success, Klopp was in no mood to ease off after Champions League and Premier League triumphs in consecutive seasons.

‘We will stay greedy’

Klopp said: “I am a specialist in coming second, so that needs some mental strength to try again. If you open pandora’s box it helps massively.

“We won CL last year and it made all other things happen. Plus 97 points. That was a special year. We will stay greedy, we have to.

“As we saw on Wednesday, the distance between us and Chelsea is not 30 points. We will try to improve everything. If you make a cut when season finishes then we start again. From that moment, we try again. Nothing will hold us back. A really nice story the boys wrote.
“But is is not finished yet. I want to see us fighting for it all on the pitch and if we do that we have a chance. We have to be a team no-one wants to play against. We already a bit but we can do more.”
