Liverpool concerns

“I’m concerned Klopp might go with Winji Hendo and Milner on sat

Fabhino has to start with Winji and Henderson”

If Klopp doesn’t start Fabinho, I’ll be upset. It won’t be because I don’t have faith in the 3 lads mentioned but Fabinho on means Henderson doesn’t have to play within himself. The same can go for Wijnaldum too. Fabinho MUST start.

Firmino(groin) and Robertson(calf) both look clear to start.

MrMakaveli

So the day of reckoning for all Liverpool fans is almost upon us.

My gut feeling is that we will have just that bit extra quality than Spurs, especially in attack, defence and our full backs. Salah and Mane could be the difference, and they really have to be on their game tomorrow. We just have to play our usual high-tempo game and go for it with real confidence, while keeping it tight at the back.

And the team picks itself really, with Wijnaldum starting, plus Firmino also, if fit.

As for Spurs, they are very dangerous opponents, if we are complacent even for just one second, we will be punished.  We have to be very careful here.

One way or another, and whatever it takes, Liverpool must find a way to win this match, I don’t even care about the performance

Mak, I actually think it could bE between Winji and Milner to start.

I’d play fab, Hendo and Winji and as ginger days bring Milner on later in the game

Quite nervous now. The thought of a defeat is really giving me the fear.

Neutral final predictions

Am going for 1-0 either way, will be a cagey one in my opinion.

3-1 for Liverpool

NotoriousBingo

50/50 game.

On their day Spurs can beat anyone. But Liverpool were there last season and by the law of averages Klopp can’t keep losing Finals.

Sarri seems to be the hardest word

Anyone who believes this type of football is good for the team is a fool, bring back those exciting wing wizards and sublime midfielders not all this boring backwards and sideways passing.

To be fair there have been games, well actually half games, where we have played some sublime football so I think that there is a degree of promise there in his football. Feel we/he needs a couple more players who are comfortable on the ball and who do not panic when pressed high up the pitch and then of course be able to play for the full 90 minutes in every game…? How Man Utd work

I’ve seen references to the scouting, recruitment system but never found an article that fully explains the stucture or how it works. This seems to come close. There is ….

Jim Lawlor – Chief scout, the scouting network reports to him and he reports to Ed on potential targets. I assume John Murtough would report to him.

John Murtough – is head of United’s football development and is a key voice in discussions as to whether a potential new player would be right for United.

Matt Judge – If that player fits United’s ideal profile, the recruitment would pass onto United’s head of corporate development, Matt Judge. Judge works very closely with chief executive Ed Woodward. If United want to offer a current player a new contract, then it will be Judge who sits down and conducts the key negotiations with the player’s representatives. Judge also carries out similar talks with the agents of players United are keen to sign. After five years and ten transfer windows, Woodward has handed individual negotiations over to Judge.

Technical Director – The role would involve overseeing the first team, alongside the scouting and performance and strategy departments, as well as the academy.

NOTE: I read somewhere that United had a technical man but the part I read did not clearly explain his role.

Lets hope Judge is a better judge than Wudturd!

Yorkshireman200

Yorkshire I wouldn’t hold my breath they all sing off the same incompetent hymn sheet ;Letting Lukaku leave over rashaldo? I’m afraid the stats don’t back that up but I guess these days it’s about the united DNA and having connections with Manchester the overriding criteria. Any wonder Smalling young jones are still here!!

Ed Woodward - Man Utd and Liverpool have same crucial issue; Sarri supporters are fools

I remember Neville saying something about this a few months back. It’s a mess behind the scenes. I think we still have Fergie’s head scout. We have someone high up from the Moyes “reign”. There’s also a chief scout still there who LVG employed!
I think they’ve done a good job in the last few months with the coaching team, they’re all United people through and through. You’d hope the next stage now is to revamp that scouting system and you’d expect a DoF would bring in his own people to lead that function. Imagine still having LVG’s chief scout at United. The guy who scouted Memphis Depay, Daley Blind and Matteo Darmian! Geezer should be working at Everton!

happy_hurling

Why do you say its a mess? According to the article (and other sources) they modernised the system. Moyes introduced a database to track potential targets. They have since expanded their global network of scouts. And later ….

The club reorganised their recruitment structure in 2016, bringing in Everton’s Steve Brown to become the co-ordinator of all of United scouting efforts.

John Murtough is head of United’s football development and is a key voice in discussions as to whether a potential new player would be right for United.

If that player fits United’s ideal profile, the recruitment would pass onto United’s head of corporate development, Matt Judge.

So as I understand it, the scouts find the targets, Murtough decides if right for United (a role fans argue we need a DoF for) and Judge initiates and handles the negotiations (what we blame Ed for cocking up).

I can’t see what a DoF would do that isn’t already being done beyong being the public face to the system. And in that case, it would explain why experience is not necessary, the club would be happy with a name like Rio or Fletcher.

Klopp’s big need

We are just where we want to be! A few tweeks here and there but otherwise this team is pretty damn amazing if you compare us to the past…
To me looks like Klopp has full faith in Gomez and I have a feeling he will take central poation fron Matip to be the main partner. I have seen enough of Gomez to come to the conclusion hes gonna be something really special and was unlucky last season not to play more due to injuries. Also I really think we will only get a few max 3players. We dont need any midfielders because Keita and Ox will be there so I understand rhe links of Pepe from Lil… but besides another attacker I feel cover for Roberston is important. But as always I have full faith Klopp has sone ideas and by the time the window closes we will have the players we need… Now lets go and win our first Cup under him.. #YNWA

slomoni

I disagree!! if Gomez is ok then no problem but we can not rely on Matip even though he played well during Gomez’s absence. Lovren must leave, Matip is a good back up but a new CB must arrive.

We have a lot of games and we must challenge City who have more quality players than we have…

…And Solskjaer’s big need

Imagine we go into next season with the same pool of CB’s! Jesus Christ!
I can hear Ole now “Chris is a top defender, Viktor is only going to get batter, Bailly will have a good season, Rojo is fully fit now and he plays for Argentina! We’ve got Axel comin back in now as well, that’s not to mention the talent we’ve already got in Phil Jones”!

If we go into next season with the same pool of CB’s that we had this season then i will be very concerned. Nothing to flip flop on there. I’ll always stand by that, there’s a good defender in there. His career has just been ruined by injuries. And now i don’t believe we will ever see a consistent run of form from him – i don’t believe he’s good enough to bring us back to the top of English football. I’m sure Sir Alex Ferguson has changed his mind on Jones too. Call that whatever you want.

Matthijs.de .Ligt 1 - Man Utd and Liverpool have same crucial issue; Sarri supporters are fools

Don’t know where all the bollix about Sancho and De Ligt knocking us back has come from. Paper bollix seems to be masquerading as facts these days. Sancho has an agreement to stay at Dortmund for another year. The club are on the record stating this. So no one will be signing him this window regardless. De Ligt has been nailed on to go to Barca the past 6 months but his agent is playing silly cunts with the media trying to get us involved to inflate his price. If Barca put the right money on the table then no PL team will be signing him.

Of that list the realistic ones this window would be Wan Bissaka for about £55M, Dembele for about £45M and Maguire for about £70M. Others we could be seriously sniffing around are Pepe, Ndombele and Rabiot.

I also don’t think we’ll go nuts in the transfer window blowing money for the sake of it. I think if they have identified young talent like Rice and Sancho then they’ll wait another year to get them. Signing players for the sake of it and to make up numbers has caused the shit we find ourselves in at the moment.

N1xer

The squad needs an overhaul no doubt, looks like the club are under no illusions to this now. It’s gonna take a couple of years let’s just watch and see what happens.
It’s the first 11 that I’m interested in the most, what changes are we going to see there?
Assuming everyone stays put this looks like the bones of the first 11 next season;

De Gea
Dalot/ New RB, New CB, Lindelof, Shaw

McTominay/Matic
Fred/New CM Pogba

New RW Martial

Rashford

Need at least 3 players for the first 11. Dan James won’t be a regular starter yet, we need 3 who can come in and already be good.
Plus we really need a right back coz Dalot isn’t ready yet. So it’s 4 players and we need the likes of Pogba, Martial and Rashford to stand up and be counted for next season. If they all stay!

Happy hurling

The Glazers didnt force the said manager in charge wasting money on: Fellaini, Mata, Matic, Rojo, Shaw, Darmian,Blind, Mikhi, Sanchez, Bailly, Lindelof, and so many more! Its not Glazers fault that Pogba, Martial and JLingz dont give 2 f**ks about the club, players who would rather spend time on social media than trying to improve the team they play for, right?
Its not their fault Lukaku is not working and needs replacing etc.
