Mane in declaration about Klopp after stunning start to Liverpool season

Liverpool forward Sadio Mane has declared that boss Jurgen Klopp is the “best” manager in the world following the club’s almost perfect start to the Premier League campaign.

The Reds went into the international break eight points clear of nearest rivals Leicester following a 3-1 win over champions Manchester City, their 11th win from 12 in the top flight after losing only once in the previous campaign.

Liverpool are also well-placed to begin the next phase of the defence of the Champions League having won three and lost one of their four group stage games in the competition.

Speaking to the Official Liverpool Monthly Magazine, Mane explained why he regards Klopp as one of the top coaches in football.

“I would struggle to describe just how successful he has been for Liverpool,” the Senegal international said. “Everybody can see what he has done for this club, for this city and the quality he has as a manager.

“There are a lot of good managers in Europe but what I can say is that our manager always has the right words and the right things to manage his team, especially knowing how to deal with his team.

“I would always trust his influence on the team. He is a winner and I would say he is the best in the world.”

Liverpool return to Premier League action on Saturday when they face Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park, where they will be without both Andy Robertson and Mohamed Salah, who have been ruled out through injury.
