Tottenham are in talks to sign the new striker they crave with a Norway hitman in their sights, while Man Utd, Man City and Liverpool are being linked with a ridiculous £400m swoop for one of the world’s best, according to Monday’s transfer gossip.
SORLOTH IN TALKS WITH TOTTENHAM
Tottenham Hotspur want to sign Norway striker Alexander Sorloth and are in talks over a deal, according to reports.
Jose Mourinho is desperate to get his hands on a new striker to provide back-up for Harry Kane. On Sunday, Spurs were again linked with January target Willian Jose.
However, the Daily Express claims it is Norway goal machine Sorloth, who looks closest to signing.
That’s after Trabzonspor president Ahmet Agaoglu claims talks are being held with Tottenham.
Any deal looks slightly more complicated as the striker is on loan at the Turkish side from Crystal Palace. Trabzonspor have a deal in place to make his move permanent this summer.
Furthermore, Champions League semi-finalists RB Leipzig are also keen on signing Sorloth.
Agaoglu confirmed: “Sorloth want to go. But every player who wants to go, there is no world we say okay. Leipzig are interested and we meet with Tottenham. We will act in Trabzonspor interests.”
Sorloth managed just one goal in 20 appearances for Palace before they shipped him out on loan.
However, during his time in Turkey’s Super Lig, he has proved a more than competent striker. He has scored 33 times in just 49 appearances for Trabzonspor, bringing him to Mourinho’s attention.
The Portuguese firebrand has reassured Spurs fans they will work hard to welcome more firepower to the club this summer.
“Yes, I want, I need a striker, but I want to make it very, very clear that the club – the structure above me – knows that I need a striker and also wants a striker,” he said.
“Are we going to get one? I honestly believe so.”
Sorloth has a total of 74 goals from 194 career appearances.
