According to The Telegraph, Tottenham are interested in signing Willian this summer.
What’s the word?
The Brazil international has been previously linked with a move to north London of course, with Chelsea coming in at the last minute to snatch him away from Spurs’ grasp back in the summer of 2013.
But now, The Telegraph claim Spurs, along with the likes of Arsenal and Bayern Munich, are “considering him as a free transfer this summer” – Willian’s contract at Stamford Bridge comes to an end at the end of this current campaign.

The report further adds that Chelsea have failed to find a breakthrough over negotiating a new deal, which has “prompted rival clubs to look at what they believe would be a summer bargain”.
Spurs boss Jose Mourinho will of course know a lot about the Brazilian. The duo were both at Chelsea for a few years in the 2010s, and enjoyed a successful period together, winning the Premier League title and League Cup. And Willian himself has spoken openly about how highly he rates his former manager.
And that “special relationship” that Willian talks about, is what makes his potential move across London so intriguing. The winger is by no means having the kind of season that would point to him regressing in his career – he has seven goals and six assists in 37 games across all competitions, including a match-winning brace against Spurs themselves back in December.
Reuniting him with Mourinho could be the key to getting another couple of big seasons out of him, and the Spurs boss would know all about his strengths and how best to utilise him. After all, he played 114 times for Mourinho when they were at Stamford Bridge.
With it being a free transfer too, Spurs would be foolish to turn their noses up at a potential swoop for Willian.
Meanwhile, this Spurs star just offered another reminder of Pochettino’s magic.
