Leicester, Wolves circling after €30m bid is tabled for Juventus star

Wolves and Leicester have registered their interest in a Juventus centre-back who could be ‘available for the right price’, claims a report.

The Foxes and Wolves have enjoyed stellar campaigns this year. The end result for Leicester and in all likelihood Wolves, will be European football next season.

The last time Leicester player in Europe in 2016/17, however, their league form suffered dramatically.

And while Wolves have managed their resources well this season, the additions of quality squad depth in key areas will likely be a necessity for both clubs in the summer.

Both sides boast an excellent pair of centre-halves in Caglar Soyuncu and Jonny Evans, and Willy Boly and Conor Coady. But top class depth beyond that is an area of concern.

Now, Italian transfer guru Nicolo Schira has revealed how both sides intend to remedy that issue.

Juventus centre-back Merih Demiral could be the solution, with Schira highlighting both teams’ interest in the 22-year-old.

Demiral moved to Juventus from Sassuolo in 2019, but first-team appearances have predictably been hard to come by. The Old Lady boast considerable depth in that position, while an untimtely ACL injury also disrupted his campaign.

Schira notes that Juventus ‘don’t want to sell,’ but ESPN cite speculation that suggests the Turkish international would be ‘available for the right price.’

A bid of ‘€30m + add-ons’ has reportedly been tabled, though was rejected by Juventus.
